On behalf of Ystradgynlais RFC I would like to extend a warm welcome to the players, supporters and officials of South Gower RFC. Our visitors recorded an excellent victory last weekend which will give them a huge boost before today’s encounter. Ironically we will be travelling to South Gower next Saturday for the 2nd round of the Swalec Bowl.
We picked up our first bonus point of the season last Saturday with an important win away at Banwen RFC. As we found out last season every point is vital if you wish to succeed and can be a major fact come what May.
Another bonus for the club last Saturday was fielding three teams on a Saturday for the first time in many years. It is heart-warming to think that over 60 players wore Blue and White last week. This is an amazing achievement considering we were struggling to field a first team only three seasons ago. Investment in youth and team spirit is certainly working for us.
Next Saturday will be a special day for us as we welcome Leicester RFC supporters to the club. We have been made an honorary part of the Tigers family thanks to Owen Williams’ success at the club. A full day is being planned for our visitors before they travel down West to Parc y Scarlets.
Today is our last home game before the autumn internationals. There will however be friendlies, Youth and second team games under floodlights this November to feed the rugby appetite. All of Wales’ games will be shown live at the club. Your continued support is always appreciated.
